About Shinjuku

Shinjuku is one of Japan's leading downtown and office districts.
The name "Shinjuku" is said to be derived from Naito Shinjuku, a post town on the Koshu Highway. The area of the skyscrapers at the west exit of Shinjuku is an area created by the redevelopment of the former site of the Yodobashi Water Purification Plant. The three-dimensional construction of the road up and down seems to be a remnant of the topography of the water purification plant. For photography and camera lovers, it is a familiar city with Yodobashi Camera. Bic Camera has also entered the market, and the two major camera stores in Tokyo are lined up. In addition, there is also a map camera of a second-hand camera, so it is a shopping town that you will not get tired of even if you stay for a day.

The view from the 28th floor of Shinjuku L Tower with the Nikon Service Center is a superb view.
There is a binoculars corner in the showroom attached to the service center. You can see Shibuya area and Yoyogi Park well, and you can see far to Yokohama clearly. Why not stop by Yodobashi Camera, the return of Bic Camera?

As for a photo exhibition about Shinjuku, I was impressed by the Nishi-Shinjuku fixed-point photograph "Pulsating Skyscraper" held at Park Tower in 2007. A photo book and DVD are also available.

July 3, 2020 Shinjuku Kitamura Photo Machine Store, operated by Camera Kitamura, opens. It was originally scheduled to open in May, but was postponed to July due to the social impact of the new coronavirus epidemic.

There is Starbucks coffee in Shinjuku Central Park, and there is a lawn square in front of the terrace seats, which is a place of relaxation.
